The Learning Hub, which will be located next to the historical “dome” structure of Kayseri Central Technical Anatolian High School, is a multi-faceted project that offers modern learning and socialization areas while preserving the historical texture. In the project, it was aimed to TRANSFERRING THE EXPERIENCE FROM PAST TO FUTURE generations in matter of cintinioution of art&crafts. In order to make it happen, there are spaces such as masterclasses which is atelier given by student of technical high school, workshop spaces, library, auditorium and digital learning&experience spaces where middle school&unıversity students could MEET and INTERACTwith student of technıcal high school. It will be beneficial for their social skills and when they exhibit and show their works to public, it is amied to RAISE UP REPUTATION OF TECHNICAL SCHOOLS. On the other hand, the design will work as a continuation of CRAFT ATELIER project of MEB.

In the form finding process, the concept of “resident foreigner” philosophy of George Schimmel is adopted and it is aimed that the place will appeal to both local people and outsiders. The “yerleşik yabancı” concept emphasizes the role of architecture as a mediator of culture, where the built environment becomes a site for blending native and foreign elements. According to George Schimmel, the ‘’foreigner’’ something that who comes today, stays tomorrow and something that creates a space with its distinction. In modern cities, groups such as students hold a settled-foreigner status. This project aimes to facilitate the integration of these individuals into society while also providing a spatial framework that preserves their identity and autonomy. In this project, the ‘’settled’’ are the students of technical high school, ‘’foreigners’’ are the users from outside. The right of foreigns to access space is important part of this design, as well as the needs of settled ones.
