Solana – A Creative Wellness Education Hub
Solana is a creative wellness hub and art-focused learning environment nestled along a gently sloped urban edge. Designed as an alternative to conventional therapy or institutional education, Solana fosters emotional well-being, informal learning, and creative engagement through a fusion of nature, community, and the arts. The name “Solana,” meaning “sunny place,” reflects the project’s orientation toward light, openness, and the regenerative power of landscape and collective experience.
The architecture follows a part-to-whole strategy: modular, organically shaped volumes—art studios, music rooms, seminar spaces, and dining areas—are carefully embedded into the terrain. These distinct yet connected zones form a unified experience through flowing terraces, curved paths, and shared outdoor platforms. The structural character embraces biophilic design with green roofs, natural textures like timber and rammed earth, and open-air thresholds that dissolve boundaries between interior and exterior.
Solana is deeply integrated with its context—public walkways from the city weave into the site, encouraging shared use and turning the space into both sanctuary and civic destination. Its atmosphere is contemplative yet vibrant, where creativity, reflection, and social interaction continuously intermingle throughout the day.
From a student’s view:
“Each morning I cross a wooden bridge into the central courtyard where sunlight filters through the trees. The café hums quietly as we prepare for the day. Sometimes I work in the print studio; other days I join a discussion circle on the garden steps. Solana doesn’t just nurture our talent—it nourishes our spirit and sense of belonging.”
