SYMPOSION / Ayşe Berfin Boztosun

The project is located on the road coming from Ürgüp to Sinasos, in the parking area close to Eleni Church and the square. It is positioned with a very steep slope on the right and left of the road. The structure is on the right of the arrival road. The entrance of the structure is 8 meters above the road, and it was intended to create a border to the area when coming from Eleni, but this was not achieved with curbs and walls, but by using the structure as a border wall. It was aimed to create visual interest, but this was aimed by terracing the landscape and gradually raising it. The disabled ramps and stairs were designed in accordance with the design standards during the ascent. It was aimed to increase both the green area and create visuality by using permeable materials and trees in the landing sections.

This structure includes a culinary school, restaurant and accommodation units where Sinasos’ registered cuisine meets fine dining. In addition to the core reception and common toilet on the ground floor of the structure, a core area that can accompany both seating and conferences was created. When you go downstairs, there is the theoretical classroom of cooking classes, the restaurant and the accommodation units on the floor. The theoretical classroom is connected to the practical classroom by a staircase, which is a vertical circulation element in itself. It is a floor where practical and theoretical lessons are held at the road level. In addition, the gallery area of the classroom on the 4th floor and the practical classroom on the 0th floor increase visuality and experience.

Overall, the project blends traditional elements of Sinasos’ architectural and cultural heritage with modern functionality, fostering a unique environment for culinary education and tourism.
