This architectural project is located in the Üngüt neighborhood of Kahramanmaraş, a city known for its significant textile industry. Over the years, the rapid growth of local textile factories has played a crucial role in shaping both the economy and urban texture of the region. However, this industrial expansion also led to the spread of informal housing, especially in the outskirts like Üngüt.

The project proposes a transformation of this area by replacing informal settlements with medium-rise apartment blocks (5–6 stories) and positioning a modern art museum at the heart of the new neighborhood. The museum is designed with a unique concept that revolves around the reuse of textile waste. Leftover or discarded fabrics from nearby factories are collected and repurposed into large-scale art installations.

In addition to physical artworks, the museum features digital exhibitions and hands-on workshops that invite visitors to explore the creative potential of textile materials. In doing so, the project not only provides a cultural and artistic hub for the community but also raises awareness of sustainable practices and celebrates the city’s industrial heritage.

This design weaves together themes of transformation, trace, reuse, and fabric, creating a vibrant urban space where the memory of labor and material is preserved through contemporary artistic expression.
