Revitalization Project of the Artist Street in Kayseri Castle
1st Year Studio Project-ReFrame Kayseri
This project aims to revitalize the Artist Street located within Kayseri Castle, which has
remained inactive and underutilized for a long time. Based on the spatial potentials and
observed deficiencies in current usage, a comprehensive design was developed,
including digital production-focused workshop areas, communal seating and discussion
zones, exhibition corridors, and supporting service units.
At the heart of the design lies a semi-open transitional corridor intended for the
exhibition of works produced within the space. This corridor serves as an active
circulation axis for both visitors and creators. Flanking the corridor are digital art and
production-oriented workshops, enabling an interactive and productive environment. To
promote public engagement, open seating areas and discussion zones are integrated
around the workshops.
Continuing along the circulation path, the project includes informative rooms for
visitors, resting areas, and essential facilities such as restrooms. The design presents an
approach that redefines the use of public space by centering on user interaction and
creative production.
