Gastro+

Gastro + Ayten Süslü

Gastro+ is a gastronomy-based social innovation center that brings together Kahramanmaraş’s strong agricultural potential, local culinary culture, and natural resources. The project aims to establish a creative cycle extending from production to consumption by evaluating the city’s rich vegetation and water resources.

This center is not only a kitchen or educational area; it is also a sharing, production, and experience platform. Designed for local people, young entrepreneurs, students, and tourists, Gastro+ promotes both economic and cultural sustainability. The center includes areas where agricultural products will be grown, workshops, gastronomy laboratories, tasting points, open market areas, and social interaction spaces.

The project combines traditional knowledge with technology to offer new-generation production and learning environments. Innovative functions such as recipe development with local products and education-based gastronomic experiences distinguish the project from its peers. In addition, thanks to its sustainable architectural approach, it works in integration with environmental solutions such as natural airflow, shading, and rainwater collection.

The aim of Gastro+ is to reinterpret the identity of Maraş, using gastronomy as a development tool and bringing the city together with national and international gastronomy networks. This center is not only a place where food is cooked but also a meeting point where ideas are produced, shared, and transformed.
