AITHERA

Structural Character and Concept The project is a vertical ecosystem designed to study the biological rift between humanity’s elevated civilization and the mutated wilderness below. The architectural form is centered around a multi-layered functional tower, serving as the primary hub for BAUBOT, the specialized researcher creature. The design integrates mechanical efficiency with biological surveillance, utilizing the city’s structural pillars as passive traps for the surface’s new fauna. The Narrative of BAUBOT’s Daily Cycle BAUBOT begins its cycle at the Recharging Station, a secluded, enclosed hangar located at the base of the primary hub. Once its energy cells are fully saturated, the creature ascends to the Observation Deck. Equipped with high-precision long-range binoculars and multi-spectral scanners, BAUBOT surveys the apertures in the structural columns and the traps set in the lower atmosphere. From this vantage point, it identifies which collection cylinders have reached capacity with trapped, mutated specimens.Upon spotting a full trap, BAUBOT descends to the collection cylinders located at the base of the pillars. It docks its rear-mounted vacuum mechanism into the cylinder’s intake valve, extracting all avian and flying mutants through a powerful suction process. With its storage chambers full, BAUBOT ascends to the Genetic Research Laboratory on the middle floor. Here, in a facility equipped with cutting-edge technology, the creature conducts deep genetic sequencing. Humanity, having been isolated from nature for generations, utilizes these findings to understand the mutations triggered by their absence. After the analysis, the specimens are moved to the Specimen Storage Vault on the uppermost level. This area serves as a living archive and a holding pen for subjects required for experiments aimed at advancing human evolution. Once the day’s collection and research protocols are finalized, BAUBOT takes a direct high-speed path from the vault back to the Recharging Station. By returning to its starting point, it restores its spent energy, ready to begin the surveillance of Aithera’s shadows once more.
