The Vespera City: An Architecture of Souls and Light

This project is model design of a living creature that get inspiration from Italiano Calvino’s book Invisible Cities. The creature’s daily habits and city ‘s design had connections the city of Adelma. The design had several spaces that helps daily routine of creature. The spaces rise in different levels. In design there is living and feeding space for creature and different spaces which serve different purposes.  There is closed, semi-open and open spaces. The creature living in city had cubic form and legs for walking and running. Creature’s main mission is guiding souls who gathered for visiting their belongings last time. The creature guiding them with the light that had in front of his head after absorbing (eating) the lights collected in from daylight in the feeding space.  The creature is blind it can find his way that getting help from the passing points. The city mostly dark and silent. Because of the strict relationships with souls and after life city has mysterious and spine-chilling aura. And structure mostly serve this purpose as including flooding spaces. The space except graveyard rises above from ground level with tiny connections (sticks).   I begin my day when the moon rises the above. I get up in my cozy space. My cubic form starts to move rhythmically, my legs finding the familiar ‘passing points’ in the dark city. I am always getting up starving. My first stop like as usual being the place for eating something. The warm light from the morning fills me with joy.  I can feel my light starts to open. After solving hunger problem, I start my mission. As I move to higher levels the city stars to hums with a low, vibrating silence. I understand to reaching souls from heavy feelings and concern. I guide them to the portals. After passing the portals I understand one more time the souls here with their light feelings. My last stop being their graveyard. I leave them to rest before the sun goes up. Finally I turn my place for sleeping.
