ESCAPECORE
Escapecore is an experimental micro-architectural shelter designed to preserve the concept of the Sound of Silence, the purest and most tranquil state of the human mind. Conceived as an escape from the chaotic noise of the city, the structure spatializes a simple and peaceful childhood memory of solitude, where nothing can penetrate except the sound of the wind and the sea. Through the narrow, time sensitive light slits integrated into its façade, daylight filters into the interior, transforming the structure from an ordinary enclosure into a personal sanctuary a true place in the deepest sense of the word. In this project, the feeling of belonging is not constructed through permanence, but through temporary emotions and sensory experiences. The space anchors itself not to physical foundations, but to the melody of the wind and waves, the scent of the sea and the ritual of coffee. The cantilevered balcony and swing offer the user a momentary escape from gravity, creating a unique experience of freedom and a profound senseof belonging to the space. The kitchen counter and the deep resting area demonstrate that the structure is designed not merely to be observed but to be fully inhabited and experienced. Envisioned as a retreat where a screenwriter can listen to silence and transform memories into stories, every corner of the project serves a specific daily ritual and contributes to a living environment. Although the form presents a bold silhouette, architectural intervention has been kept to a minimum and carefully adapted to the surrounding topography. In this way, the diminishing presence of light, wind, and silence is amplified through the artistic power of architecture.

STORY LOOP
Located in Soğanlı Valley, Story Loop is a writers’ OBA designed as a collective environment where individual creativity and shared memory coexist. The project brings together six writers, each inhabiting a personal retreat known as an Escape Core. These small structures provide spaces for solitude, concentration, and reflection, allowing residents to transform memories, observations, and experiences into stories. At the center of the settlement lies the Gathering Space, which acts as the social and intellectual heart of the OBA. Connected by a network of pathways, bridges, courtyards and landscaped terraces, this communal area encourages discussion, collaboration and the exchange of ideas. While the individual units support focused writing and personal exploration, the gathering area creates opportunities for collective learning, storytelling and cultural production. The architectural language balances soft, organic forms with more defined geometries, establishing a dialogue between individuality and community. The project responds to the topography of Soğanlı Valley by carefully settling into the terrain rather than dominating it. Open views, natural light, and the surrounding landscape become active elements of the spatial experience. The sound of water, changing daylight, and seasonal vegetation contribute to an atmosphere that supports contemplation and creativity. A typical day begins in the quiet of an Escape Core, where a writer develops thoughts, memories or research into written narratives. Later, paths lead residents toward the Gathering Space, where stories, ideas, and discoveries are shared with others. Some writers present research findings, others discuss screenplays or manuscripts, while visitors engage with exhibitions and public events. As the day comes to an end, residents return to their private retreats carrying new perspectives and inspirations. Through this continuous cycle of solitude, encounter, creation and reflection, Story Loop transforms personal memories into collective narratives.
