Kahramanmaraş Agri-Hub: Local Production, Collective Transformation

The Agri-Hub aims to offer a sustainable solution model to the environmental problems intensified by increasing consumption, by referencing the city’s local potential and cultural heritage. This project approaches agriculture not merely as an economic activity, but as a form of social and cultural memory. The Agri-Hub structure proposes a flexible platform where urban farming and rural knowledge intersect—promoting not only production, but also socialization, learning, and collective transformation. Intertwined with public space, the hub creates a multi-stakeholder ecosystem involving local governments, NGOs, producers, artists, and citizens. Indoor spaces include hydroponic farming labs, plant cultivation workshops, and areas for education and exhibitions. In this way, agriculture becomes a space for both innovation and interaction—merging technology with social purpose. The project seeks to redefine the identity of Kahramanmaraş as a producer city, integrating a locally rooted, sustainable lifestyle model into the urban fabric and creating a pioneering field of transformation.
