“Breaking the grid system” in Kayseri city, which is in a grid system due to the influence of industry and fast manufacturing, and “design school” right next to Kayseri vocational high school. It will break the craft, which is a part of the industrial production chain without design in the craft, in this production chain and make the craft valuable. It will add value to the city, school and craft by producing designs. While this design center was being produced, it was thought to be constructed with the structural system, mold craft, glass casting craft, ironwork craft, which tells that the 2 most used building materials in the city, reinforced concrete and glass materials, are actually flexible materials. It also offers alternative spaces to urbanites with cultural interaction area, orchestra, forum and exhibitions as an alternative solution to the scarcity of interaction areas for designers and people in Kayseri. It offers functions such as biodesign, parametic design, material innovation for designers to experience and develop design in every field. There is a collaborative design studio that will enable the students of the central vocational high school, which is a production school, to meet with the students of the design school and to produce together. In addition, the project form has retreats or sinks in the form in a way that respects the central vocational high school buildings and the dome, which have historical importance and an important place in the city’s memory. The dome is experienced from many parts of the building with the surfaces and stairs created by starting from angles targeting the center of the dome from one angle. In particular, the stairs in front of the temporary exhibition are designed by targeting the dome. Finally, the spaces are supported by semi-open areas and open areas.
