Inspired by the historical context of the Kayseri Merkez Vocational and Technical High School, my “Art and Craft Hub” project is designed as a social learning center that brings together the community and students. Aiming to revive the craft-oriented identity of the site with a modern interpretation, the project seeks to establish a cultural and educational connection.
The design includes functional spaces such as a library, exhibition areas, workshops, a café, and an auditorium, catering to both individual and collective use. The concept is based on a form that gathers around a central plaza and distributes towards the surrounding functions. This plaza serves as a social focal point where users can interact and create opportunities for collaborative learning.
With carefully designed connection points, the project harmonizes with the historical and functional character of the surrounding buildings while adopting a sustainable and contemporary architectural language.
