The Nexus: Biennial & Art and Craft Point
The Nexus project aims to transform the Kayseri Central Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, into a Biennial & Art and Craft Point. Historically significant in Turkey’s technical education, the school will be integrated into the cultural route, creating a focal point that blends historical and contemporary narratives. The project aims foster creative collaborations, showcasing diverse artistic and craftsmanship practices, enhancing the cultural heritage and innovation of the region.
The design incorporates axes from the cultural route and Talas Boulevard, shaping the ground floor plan and ensuring seamless connectivity. The concept of activity platform circle is integrated +4 level , Two distinct ramps provide vertical circulation from the -4 level to the ±0 level and from the ±0 level to the +4 level, ensuring smooth user movement and adding visual dynamism to the design.Ramps and bridges provide vertical circulation and connect different levels. The ramp from the ±0 level to the +4 level and the bridge from Talas Boulevard link directly to the activity circle, optimizing pedestrian flow. The spaces under the ramps are left open for “pop-up art and artisan market” areas, ensuring efficient use of open spaces.

By integrating with the cultural route and biennial concept, it boosts visibility and functionality, and attracting both local and international visitors. Ultimately, the project aims to enhances the socio-economic and cultural vitality of Kayseri, creating a versatile environment that blends historical, cultural, and artistic potentials.
