Kayseri Merkez Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School has a deep-rooted history in advancing artistic, industrial, and technical education since the early years of the Republic. HERITECH reinterprets this school, with its historical texture, and its surroundings, focusing on its artistic and craftsman identity. The project aims to revitalize the memory of the school under an innovative roof where public engagement and production intersect.

Located near the city center, the historic high school and its surroundings host historical axes as well as expanding residential and commercial areas over time. In line with these syntheses, HERITECH seeks to integrate the school’s existing infrastructure in arts and crafts with technology, presenting it to the public and carrying it into the future. By focusing on the digitalization required by the era, the project aims to develop and produce everyday products in this context, supporting students’ creativity and the school’s cultural identity.

The interaction of students and the public at specific points during different times and routines publicizes the act of production embedded in the school’s memory. The potential within the historic school reveals a forward-looking, sustainable approach to digitalization through HERITECH.
