This project combines the unique and cultural heritage of Sinasos region of Cappadocia with an innovative perspective. In this project, which is one of the beautiful examples of modern architecture, the eroded rocks in Cappadocia are redefined with the effect of Şenol Wine Factory. The project was designed to host both locals and tourists in a meaningful and productive way and to design experimental areas.
The extroverted design philosophy creates a space where visitors, locals, and international stakeholders can meet, interact, and engage in business or leisure. It incorporates the unique topography of Cappadocia, blending seamlessly into its surroundings while utilizing local materials and techniques to create a sustainable and functional environment. The project aims to bring the community together, celebrate wine culture, and boost eco-tourism in the region
In this project, which is connected to areas such as the wine tasting area, wine museum and restaurant continuing from the basement of the Wine Factory, connections and external openings using the extrovert concept are of great importance. The project has 3 major and comfortable circulation routes such as access from the basement, access via ramps and access from the land by walking. The fact that the ramps have a green roof feature provides a nice tour pleasure and people reach the square as a result of this ramp. When they reach the square, the users are greeted by a fire pit and a water pit. The spatial design of the project is compatible with the natural topography including stone ramp roads, semi-closed gathering spaces and open courtyards. Stone and green areas are perfectly blended with the textures of the region.
In the dwellings, there are areas where users can produce handmade wine on the ground floor and tasting-resting areas, while there are accommodation areas for producers on the basement floors. Local users who know wine production stay in these accommodation areas. There are a total of 18 beds in the hotel facility for long-term accommodation. This hotel, built under a luxury concept, has various gathering spaces and restaurants.
In short, the project of “Winextrovert” is an extroverted wine factory complex located in Sinasos. It emphasizes a design concept that combines traditional wine production with an interactive experience, blending eco-tourism, local culture, and modern architecture. The project spans 4,000 m² and is structured to attract international wine enthusiasts while celebrating the region’s natural and cultural heritage. The key features of the project such as wine production spaces-workshops, dwelling spaces, wine tasting area, old wine museum, hotel, restaurant and outdoor spaces are connected by each other.
