Üngüt Social Education Center creates a unique space where nature and science meet in the Üngüt neighborhood of Kahramanmaraş. Designed with the knowledge of the students from Sütçü İmam University and the production power of the local people, the center is enriched with the region’s natural resources and scientific innovations. This center is not just an educational space, but also a place where social interaction and production are harmonized, providing a place for people to connect with nature. By utilizing local values like thyme, biology and chemistry students are implementing creative projects such as soap production. Students learn to extract essence from thyme and, together with the local community, produce soap, making the production process an integral part of the community.

Üngüt Social Education Center offers a model where education and production coexist. In the center’s workshops, university students and locals collaborate in informative and productive activities. This interactive process not only imparts knowledge but also contributes to the local economy. The soaps produced in the workshops are turned into a source of income through community involvement, adding economic value to the region. Furthermore, artistic and fashion projects make this center truly unique. Fashion and textile workshops combine local culture with modern designs, creating a new, creative space.

Another feature that makes this center stand out is the co-working courtyard, a space where people from different disciplines come together to exchange ideas. This open area serves as a meeting point for participants to share their projects, work aloud, and collaborate on group initiatives. Designed to foster education, production, and social interaction, this center becomes not only a learning space but also a social hub contributing to the development of the region. The workshops and classrooms in the center create a platform for community development while strengthening the bond between local people and university students. By involving people from all walks of life, a shared future is built from the fusion of science and nature.
