GASTRO-PASSAGE / Gizem Akyürek
The project site is situated in Mustafapaşa, positioned near the Maraşoğlu Bridge, which serves as a landmark within the area. The design focuses primarily on gastronomy, emphasizing food’s cultural and social experience. A central feature of the design is a linear passage that acts as the key factor of the project, seamlessly connecting various gastronomic and social spaces. This passage is carefully designed to include multiple food corners, creating vibrant nodes where visitors can pause, interact, and enjoy a variety of snacks and beverages. The layout ensures easy accessibility, allowing people to enter the site, explore its offerings, and experience the dynamic atmosphere with minimal effort. The passage serves as a circulation element and a social spine that encourages engagement and interaction among visitors. At the end of the passage, a dedicated food workshop area is located, providing opportunities for visitors to participate in hands-on culinary activities. In addition, the project includes a restaurant that caters to both day visitors and guests staying in the on-site dwelling units. The dwelling area offers a variety of room types, designed to accommodate diverse visitor needs, ensuring a comfortable and memorable stay. These integrated facilities work together to create a cohesive experience, blending culinary exploration, social interaction, and relaxation within a thoughtfully designed environment.
