LushiePath / Esma İkra Karabörklü

LushiePath is a project designed to bring traditional agriculture and modern education together in Kahramanmaraş. It creates a space where students and local people can connect with nature, learn from each other, and enjoy the environment. The project takes its shape from the natural forms of the nearby archaeological mound and local Mediterranean plants. A wooden glulam structure supports the flowing, organic design.

The main idea of the project is the path. It’s not just for walking—it’s an experience. The path leads visitors through different parts of the site, starting with a greenhouse placed on top of a green terrace. This space is designed to be open and fresh, with good airflow, and it grows raspberries and aromatic plants. People can walk through, smell, touch, and learn about the plants directly.

After the greenhouse, the path continues through open gardens with apple and walnut trees. These are important plants for the region, both culturally and agriculturally. Students can use this area for research, trying out better ways to grow and care for crops. The path also connects to open spaces where people can sit, have a picnic, or just relax. The goal is to create a peaceful, welcoming place that supports both learning and everyday life.

Student Life Perspective:

As a student at LushiePath, every day feels connected to nature. I start my mornings walking the path, checking how the plants in the greenhouse are doing. The smell of fresh herbs and soil is always calming. Later, I might meet my friends in the garden to take notes or test the soil. We often work outside under the trees, and sometimes local people come by to talk or give advice. It feels more like a community than just a school. The path helps us learn, but also reminds us to slow down and enjoy the moment.
