HARMONY HABITAT

The project reimagines urban living in the Fevziçakmak neighborhood, addressing its socio-cultural and ecological challenges through a “vertical neighborhood” design. Aimed at reviving the area’s traditional sense of community, the project incorporates two interconnected buildings linked by shared terraces. These terraces act as communal spaces for social interaction, fostering neighborly connections and collective activities.

A shared vertical circulation system encourages interaction between residents, seamlessly integrating social exchange into daily routines. To tackle limited parking space, an underground parking lot at the rear of the site minimizes traffic disruption while optimizing land use.

The project prioritizes green systems to enhance ecological sustainability. Native trees, green roofs, and permeable walkways reduce the urban heat island effect, manage stormwater, and support biodiversity. The absence of traditional walls, replaced by natural boundaries of trees, strengthens the connection between the site and its surroundings.

Cultural values are celebrated through spaces like a performance area and a café, promoting community events and cultural exchange. Semi-open terraces and green zones accommodate diverse activities, from relaxation to urban gardening, creating inclusive environments for all generations.

By blending social, ecological, and cultural considerations, the project aims to create a sustainable and connected urban community, honoring the neighborhood’s heritage while addressing future needs.
