IN THE CITY WITH NATURE

This project addresses the lack of green spaces in the neighborhood, where existing areas are limited to resting or children’s play. The aim was to redefine green spaces by creating a social housing project that allows residents and the community to engage in gardening and agricultural activities in gardens and terraces, fulfilling their need for nature.

The neighborhood’s demographic, primarily families and elderly individuals, influenced the design. Recognizing the elderly’s longing for rural life, the project provides a space where they can reconnect with nature and cultivate produce.

The building’s form aligns with the Fevzi Çakmak Neighborhood grid system, where heights increase toward the periphery. The design integrates seamlessly into the urban context.

The structure is divided into communal and private spaces, separated by a transition area. Communal areas include spaces for storing, cooking, selling, and enjoying produce grown in gardens, fostering community interaction and strengthening ties with the neighborhood.

This project offers a harmonious social housing solution that integrates green spaces, supports urban agriculture, and encourages social engagement.
