INTERSECTION ECO ART MUSEUM / Alihan Yılmaz
The Eco Art Museum is conceived not merely as a museum but as a vibrant cultural hub and public space situated at a key intersection in the Üngüt Neighborhood. Strategically located at the crossroads of major public, residential, and commercial zones, it acts as a vital connector within the urban fabric. Surrounded by green spaces, the museum is composed of three distinct blocks—each with its own function—interlinked by elevated bridges that encourage circulation and visual continuity. The workshop area invites visitors to engage in creative, hands-on experiences, while the conference hall hosts lectures, performances, and community events. A restaurant offers a comfortable space for relaxation, socialization, and informal gatherings. The exterior features a raw concrete look, punctuated with sharp, fractured glass elements. These broken-glass-like surfaces are not only a visual statement but also serve to create dynamic lighting effects throughout the day. As sunlight filters through the irregular glass patterns, it casts unique reflections and shadows into the interior exhibition spaces, producing ever-changing luminous shows that enhance the spatial experience of the museum.Outdoors, an open-air amphitheater looks directly toward the symbolic tumulus of the area, establishing a strong visual and cultural connection with the local heritage. By integrating green zones, public programs, artistic expression, and architectural innovation, the Eco Art Museum becomes a new urban focal point and inclusive meeting place for the neighborhood.
