The design process of Ungut neighborhood and museum was started with the thought of creating an environment where people interact with each other and the neighborhood around them. Since neighborhood is a slopy place, organization of the roads and housing were designed according to that. For creating “soft edges” around the neighborhood, ground floor typologies were chosen in various ways. With this, it was aimed to create an interactive streets where people explore the neighborhood. After this process, the place of the museum was decided. A place near tumulus and an interactive point was decided and the form of the museum was shaped around topography and a square in the center was created. Continuous circulation inside the museum was aimed and two main ground floors were connected with the upper floor of these, making it possible to visit all over the museum without going out. The Arts & Crafts concept was chosen to keep the old crafts that started to be forgotten alive in people’s minds. Workshops were designed according to this purpose, and an interactive area was made where people could watch and participate in the design process. With the elevation difference, it is possible to watch workshops freely. With all of these considered, neighborhood and museum were designed to create a place where people interact with each other on a daily basis.
