THE PATH OF EBRU / Dilara Paylan

The Path of Ebru / Dilara Paylan

In this Project, I designed 8 different modules in Kayseri Castle. The aim is to show ebru art in a new way, not on paper, but on objects like wood and hats. Visitors follow a short tour to explore and experience this traditional art.

First, they visit at a small information area, where they learn about the tour. Then they enter a mini exhibition to see items that were marbled earlier. After that, they watch two live demonstration modules. In the first one, a craftsperson paints on wood. In the second, someone paints on objects like hats.

Next, there are two workshop areas. In one of them, visitors can try wood marbling. In the other, they can paint objects. After the workshops, there’s a drying module where the items are left to dry.

At the end of the tour,  there is a small shop. People can buy marbled items or art materials like brushes and paints if they want to try ebru art at home. Finally, they leave the area by going up the castle stairs.
