HARMONIA
Harmonia is a city inspired by Ottavia from Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino, embodying the harmony of the cyclical movement of life and energy. The city narrates Armonia’s existential journey from birth to death and rebirth. Each level in Harmonia represents a different phase of existence, forming a continuous and uninterrupted narrative without ever detaching from the whole. This cycle begins with the emergence from the cocoon tunnel located at the lowest level, where the formation of the cocoon takes place. Here, Armoni is born and then flies to the feeding area positioned above and to the left. In this space, perceived and observed positive energies are synthesized and transformed into nourishment. The elevated structure of the feeding area and its eye-shaped design facing the square allow the positive energies produced in the square to be observed more effectively. Nourished by these positive energies, Armoni begins to generate its own energy. It then flies to the square, where it produces the good energy needed by other living beings together with them. In order to renew its energy, it must return to the feeding area. However, this process of ascension does not continue forever. With the phase of guarding the prison, the journey turns into a descent, emphasizing that life contains negative energies as well as positive ones. While standing guard to prevent negative energies from escaping, Armoni loses its wings and becomes unable to fly. After completing its duty, it slides with its remaining limbs into the pit of death. Yet this apparent end symbolizes a transformation. Returning to the cocoon tunnel in cocoon form, Armoni passes through the cocoon-wrapping centers and enters the process of rebirth. Harmonia spatializes this infinite cosmic cycle by transforming the balance between good and evil, renewal, and the importance of energy into an architectural form.
