Tether in Axonia
Axonia is a speculative architectural project that explores how invisible bonds can be translated into spatial form. Inspired by the conceptual framework of Ersilia, the project focuses on relationships rather than isolated objects, proposing an urban structure defined by connections, continuity, and transformation. Architecture in Axonia is not conceived as a closed system but as an open network that allows bonds to become visible and spatially legible.The architectural language is intentionally minimal and geometric. Solid white surfaces provide structural clarity, while open frames and voids establish permeability across the project. The relationship between solid and void plays a central role, enabling spatial continuity and visual depth. Thin linear elements connect platforms and volumes, acting as mediators between different levels and reinforcing the idea of an interconnected architectural system.A key component of the project is Tether, an observational creature embedded within the architectural structure. Defined by its multiple eyes and ears, Tether represents constant perception and awareness. This observational quality directly influences the spatial organization of Axonia. Rather than relying on fully enclosed interiors, the city is primarily composed of open and semi-open spaces. Transitional zones, platforms, and layered structures allow uninterrupted visual connections and promote spatial transparency throughout the project.Enclosure in Axonia is therefore selective and controlled. Instead of conventional interior spaces, the project emphasizes thresholds, overlaps, and intermediate conditions. Vertical and horizontal layers intersect to create a dynamic spatial experience, where architecture supports movement, observation, and adaptation.Ultimately, Axonia proposes an alternative architectural approach in which structure, perception, and connection are inseparable. Through the presence of Tether and the dominance of semi-open spatial conditions, the project presents a city that remains flexible, observable, and continuously shaped by the bonds that define it.
