Designed as a response to the “Housing+” brief for the 2025-2026 Fall Semester, “The Rhythmic Stage” is a mixed-use residential complex that seeks to harmonize the dynamic energy of public urban life with the serenity of private living. The project acts as a metaphorical stage where the daily rhythms of residents and the artistic expression of dancers coexist, bridging the gap between social engagement and domestic tranquility. The building’s spatial organization is driven by a strategic separation of functions and circulation paths to ensure privacy while maintaining a cohesive architectural volume.
The ground floor serves as the active public interface of the building, hosting a dance studio complete with changing rooms and sanitary facilities, alongside a restaurant that encourages social interaction. Crucially, these public amenities are accessed via distinct, separate entrances to manage pedestrian flow and noise, ensuring that the private residential entry remains exclusive and secure for the inhabitants. Rising above this vibrant base, the three upper floors are dedicated to the residential zone, offering a diversity of spatial configurations to support a mixed user profile. The housing program features six different unit typologies, ranging from compact 1+1 and 2+1 apartments to spacious 3+1 duplex units. Supporting this density, the subterranean level at the -3.00m elevation is dedicated to technical requirements, providing an efficient parking layout with 13 standard spaces and 2 accessible spots. Externally, the project reflects its internal concept through a rhythmic façade composition of textured brick and wood, creating a warm, invite-only atmosphere that integrates the structure into the urban fabric.
