Design Topic:  Art & Craft Hub

The potential for art and design to reform society has always been a key factor in their evolution. The quality of art and design also improves the quality of life for both the designer and the consumer. During the Republican era, art schools

played a pivotal role in the emergence of technical professions and the subsequent demand for technical staff, driven by the country’s industrial investments and economic growth. The Kayseri Art Institute, which has been offering technical education since 1945, stands out for its distinctive architectural design. The “Art & Craft Hub” set to be located within the Kayseri Art Institute, currently known as Kayseri Central Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, aims to host many branches of art & craft and culture. The project will be shaped within the framework of a concept and basis that integrates all the components of the educational complex in Kayseri. The social segments of the projects should be part of daily life and in harmony with the site. The aim of the studio is to analyze historical and architectural texture, perceive the art & craft hub concept, and produce spaces for the citizens. The project should be supported with different functions such as auditorium, multipurpose hall, exhibition spaces, ateliers, library etc.

The expectation from the concepts is that being an accessible and prestigious area harmoniously in historic and architectural texture and including contemporary approaches.
