Inspired by the Zeigarnik effect, which underscores the psychological tension caused by incomplete tasks, the project seeks to encapsulate the unique sense of unfinishedness that permeates Sinasos’s historical and cultural landscape. Through a thoughtful design approach, modular and flexible micro-dwellings will be created to serve a dual purpose: providing accommodations for both short- and long-term stays and addressing the region’s evolving socio-cultural dynamics. This innovative housing model will integrate shared spaces, such as communal wells, adaptive lighting solutions, green areas, and multi-level transitions, to emphasize a unifying design narrative. These features aim to promote collaboration, cultural exchange, and a sense of belonging among residents and visitors alike. By weaving these elements into the community fabric, the project aspires to bridge the gap between Sinasos’s historical heritage and its contemporary aspirations. The use of sustainable materials and energy-efficient technologies will enhance the project’s ecological footprint, reflecting a commitment to preserving the environment while supporting modern living standards. The design is envisioned not merely as a collection of living spaces but as an evolving environment that strengthens social bonds and facilitates community cohesion. By addressing the inherent incompleteness of Sinasos’s cultural identity, The Zeigarnik Project aims to reimagine urban living, creating a harmonious interplay between past and present. It offers a setting that not only resolves the feeling of fragmentation but also celebrates the vitality of shared human experiences in a sustainable, forward-looking way.

ZEIGARNIK / Kadir Umut Yaşaroğlu The Zeigarnik Project at Intersection Point envisions a dynamic, inclusive micro-dwelling community that addresses the needs of transient populations while fostering a deep sense of community engagement and sustainability.
