Rooted in the heroic and struggle-driven identity of the region, the museum reinterprets local culture through the lens of sports and positions itself as a dynamic public space that unites past, present, and future.
\nThe design integrates indoor and outdoor exhibition areas, interactive installations, education zones, museum administration zone, cafe and inclusive spaces for all visitors, including people with disabilities. Emphasis is placed on accessibility, transparency, and openness\u2014key qualities that strengthen public engagement. Inspired by the flow of movement in sports, the architectural form is fluid, allowing visitors to experience exhibitions as a continuous journey rather than isolated rooms.
\nThe museum not only commemorates Atat\u00fcrk\u2019s vision of sports and national development but also celebrates the achievements of local athletes. Key components include a \u201cRecords Square,\u201d a sports archive and research center, a caf\u00e9-education area, and a dedicated gallery for disabled sportspeople. The material palette and landscape are selected to reflect the colors and textures of the local geography, with dominant tones of navy blue and earth hues.
\nBy connecting people to their physical and cultural environment, this museum envisions sports as a medium of healing and empowerment. It aims to enhance urban life while preserving memory, promoting education, and encouraging participation across all generations in the rebuilding of Kahramanmara\u015f.
