ART-GALLERY KAHRAMANMARA\u015e \/ Karahan G\u00fcnd\u00fcz<\/h3>\n

This contemporary art museum project in Kahramanmara\u015f is inspired by the city\u2019s rich history, shaped over thousands of years. From the Hittites and Romans to the Seljuks and Ottomans, each civilization left a unique mark on the city. We wanted to reflect these deep historical layers in a modern and meaningful way through architecture.
\nThe main idea behind the design is based on the Roman agora\u2014a central public courtyard. In our project, this courtyard becomes the heart of the museum. Around it, we designed exhibition halls, education rooms, workshop spaces, and a conference hall. The goal is to make a space not only to look at art, but also to learn, create, and come together. It\u2019s a place where artists, students, and the public can connect.
\nWe used natural and local materials to give the building a strong link to the region. For example, we chose gradient-colored fire bricks that represent the changing cultures over time, and wooden pergolas to provide shaded outdoor areas. These materials and textures are a modern interpretation of traditional building styles in the area.
\nThe museum is placed at a central point in the city, right where important roads meet. We also connected it with green pedestrian paths, so people can easily walk to it and enjoy the public space. The goal is to make the museum an active part of the city\u2019s daily life\u2014not just a closed building, but a space that invites people in.
\nOverall, this project is about blending history, art, and community.
