THREADS OF HERITAGE\/ Arif Aslan<\/span><\/h3>\n

\u201cThreads of Heritage\u201d is a modular cultural route located around the historic walls of Kayseri Castle. The main aim of this project is to give new meaning to the empty space surrounding the castle by turning it into a place of learning, experience, and connection with both traditional and modern art.The project is organized with 12 modular units. Each module has a clear function and is connected in a meaningful sequence that tells a story from the past to the present.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The first module is a History\u00a0 Introduction Unit, where visitors learn about the background of Kayseri\u2019s traditional craft, carpet weaving. This creates a cultural context.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In other units\u00a0 the materials of the craft will be exhibited. In these modules, different tools, raw materials, and processes are introduced. Visitors can touch and observe, building a closer connection with the crafts.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Also there is a\u00a0 Interactive Experience Unit. In this module, visitors can try small parts of the craft themselves \u2014 such as using a loom. This makes the experience personal and memorable.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In production units , real carpet weaving masters work daily. Visitors can watch them creating patterns and tying knots using traditional methods. It\u2019s a live workshop showing the real craft process.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Finished handmade carpets are shown in this gallery-like space. Each carpet includes a story, a pattern name, and the artist’s name. Visitors can walk, look, and admire the craft.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Then, visitors enter the Contemporary Art Module. Here, traditional elements are used in modern artworks like LED carpet. This space bridges the old and the new, showing how cultural heritage can evolve.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A sales module offers small handmade carpets and souvenir items. Visitors can buy mini carpets made by local artists. It helps support the craft and take a memory home.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Open areas between the modules are used for cafe and resting spaces, encouraging people to stop, relax,\u00a0 enjoy the environment and discuss about the craft.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This project aims to take people to a journey where they can learn, see, and experience traditional craft,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
