\u00a0“Yellow Passage \u2013 The Living Wall of Craft” \/ Nergiz Seyfi<\/span><\/h3>\n

Inspired by the historical duality of Kayseri Castle\u2014its inward-facing void and the underused Artist Street outside\u2014this project reimagines the castle wall as a <\/span>connecting threshold<\/span><\/i> rather than a separating barrier. The design introduces a linear path\u2014<\/span>a passage through the wall<\/span><\/b>\u2014highlighted by the <\/span>color yellow<\/span><\/b>, chosen for its strong visual impact and ability to draw people in.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This <\/span>“Yellow Passage”<\/span><\/b> acts not only as a spatial connector but also as a vibrant cultural artery that hosts a series of art and craft workshops. Each module is placed strategically along the passage to enhance interaction, rhythm, and visibility, transforming the wall into a living fa\u00e7ade of creativity.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The four workshop modules form a continuous user experience:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Clay Shaping Workshop<\/span><\/b> \u2013 Hands-on sculpting of clay textures and forms.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1. Fabric Printing Workshop<\/span><\/b> \u2013 Printing these forms onto fabrics like tote bags.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      1. Clay Panel Workshop<\/span><\/b> \u2013 Designing personal clay tiles using traditional motifs.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        1. Painting & Glazing Workshop<\/span><\/b> \u2013 Coloring and finalizing the clay works as art.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          The design also integrates a <\/span>Welcome Area<\/span><\/b> and <\/span>Caf\u00e9<\/span><\/b>, creating a place for gathering and rest, while the <\/span>Exhibition Zone<\/span><\/b> allows the public to experience the creative process and its results.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          Additionally, a <\/span>Pattern Wall<\/span><\/b> on site draws from local references such as Kayseri carpets, stone carvings, and mosque ornamentation. This tactile relief wall not only visually enriches the space but also connects past craftsmanship to the present, inspiring the designs in Modules 2 and 4.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
