KAYSERI CASTLE \/ Semanur Ero\u011flu<\/h3>\n

I have redesigned Kayseri Castle, one of the most important historical monuments of our city, in order to modernize it, adapt it to contemporary times, and revitalize it without compromising its historical essence. I have created and designed spaces suitable for all age groups, from the elderly to the young.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this design, I aimed to make Kayseri Castle, which I believe remains idle during the winter months, a place that can attract and impress people even in winter. Without damaging its spiritual and historical texture, I created highly aesthetic and modern spaces that can serve the public throughout the year.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At the top of the castle, there are two glass viewing terraces, which are harmonized with the castle\u2019s bastions. My goal in designing these terraces was to offer a warm and pleasant place where people can enjoy the panoramic view of Kayseri, even in winter. Inside these beautiful spaces, there are also tables, chairs, and sofas. Visitors can bring coffee, tea, or any item they wish from the cafes within the castle and enjoy them in this unique setting while socializing.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Below and in the middle of the viewing terraces, I designed a library-style area for book lovers. I aimed to provide a peaceful and inspiring environment for readers, emphasizing a sense of spaciousness through the use of glass. What inspired me for this part was a historical site I visited in Diyarbak\u0131r, which had been transformed into a library. As a book lover myself, I was deeply moved by this idea and wanted to experience and share that spiritual joy in my own design.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On the right and left sides, I designed two separate areas for children. In these spaces, my goal was to foster a love for historical monuments among children. I included colorful paintings, digital projection screens, stages, and interactive play areas where they can both play and learn about the history and culture of Kayseri.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While designing these areas, I also created connecting paths and passages to ensure circulation and accessibility between them. Moving on to the interior of the castle, I included workshop spaces where people can have fun, socialize, and improve their manual skills through various activities. I also aimed to enrich their emotional experiences with live music performances.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I designed tunnels and passageways connecting the interior and exterior of the castle. To ensure accessibility for everyone, young and old alike, I included elevators leading to the upper floors, viewing terraces, library, and children’s areas. These elevators are made of glass to allow visitors to enjoy the view while moving through the space.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In conclusion, with this design, I intended to create a synthesis by blending the historical past of Kayseri Castle with today\u2019s technology. I revitalized Kayseri Castle, which was previously underutilized in winter, and presented it as a year-round attraction accessible and enjoyable for everyone.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
