MODULART \/ Serkan Ke\u00e7eli<\/h3>\n

“Modulart” is a modular design proposal located within the historical context of Kayseri Castle. The project consists of seven unique modules that offer diverse spatial experiences and functions. Each module was initially crafted using foamboard models; however, in real construction, lightweight steel framing, laminated safety glass, and fiber-reinforced concrete panels are suggested as primary materials to ensure both durability and transparency while respecting the castle’s historical character.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The aim of the project is to integrate contemporary cultural practices into a historically charged environment without overwhelming it. Through minimal yet sharp geometric interventions, Mod\u00fclart becomes a contemporary layer that breathes new life into the castle\u2019s interior courtyard.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Module Functions and Spatial Strategy<\/span><\/b>
\nThe seven modules serve different purposes: VR drawing rooms, a fashion design unit, a sculpting workshop, a children\u2019s play area, an open amphitheater for performances, a resting zone, and a digital gallery. Each module operates semi-independently while maintaining visual and physical continuity through circulation paths.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For example, the VR rooms provide digital painting opportunities, where users draw on digital screens using VR headsets. Their creations are projected for audiences and later exhibited virtually. In the fashion module, users design digital garments inside a long and narrow interactive space equipped with large digital walls.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

User Experience Narrative<\/span><\/b>
\nImagine a visitor\u2014a high school student passionate about art\u2014stepping into the VR drawing module. They put on the headset, approach the screen, and start painting in an immersive space where lines float and colors evolve. Their creation is instantly saved and sent to an online gallery. Later, they step into the sculpture module, sit on a rotating stool, and engage in clay modeling while others watch and provide feedback. Before leaving, they walk past the children\u2019s play module and the open amphitheater, where a live digital fashion show is playing. This multi-layered experience makes each visit unique and interactive.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
