Exploring Ebru Art Through Architecture<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Beyond of WaterMarks<\/span><\/b> is a unique architectural installation carefully integrated into the historic Kayseri Castle, designed to celebrate the traditional Turkish art of Ebru (marbling). The project\u2019s title reflects its ambition to transcend spatial and cultural boundaries, aiming to craft innovative narratives deeply rooted in cultural heritage.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The architecture embraces a flexible, modular approach defined by trapezoidal forms tailored to specific uses and contextual relationships. This modular structure offers both functional versatility and visual harmony\u2014clearly reflected in the meticulously planned layout shown in the functional diagrams. The front elevation reveals vibrant, dynamic spaces: a caf\u00e9 designed as a lively communal hub that fosters social interaction; a film screening area that hosts cultural and artistic exchanges; collaborative and creative workshops; and dedicated marbling studios for hands-on artistic engagement.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The back elevation emphasizes the thoughtful spatial arrangement through areas designated for material sales and exhibitions, marked with distinct colors. These zones support both practical activities and cultural sharing, providing visitors with opportunities to directly engage with Ebru art and appreciate it visually.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the circulation diagram, clearly marked paths ensure intuitive navigation throughout and around the castle. Interactive experiences guide visitors and students through the process\u2014from material preparation to final artistic presentation. Two main staircases embedded into the castle offer distinct routes: one encourages immersive participation in Ebru art, while the other provides a more relaxed, educational journey through informative displays and sales points.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our professors regularly engage with us, challenging us to expand our perspectives.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
