WATERLINE -Abdulsamet Altay<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cConnection with Water: Social and Sustainable Innovation Center\u201d is a comprehensive public project developed as a response to both the underutilization of Kahramanmara\u015f\u2019s abundant water resources and the social space deficiencies that emerged after the earthquake. The center integrates educational, research, and communal functions within a sustainable architectural framework, aiming to raise awareness about water efficiency, starting from the city\u2019s often-overlooked closed stream systems.<\/span><\/p>\n

At its core, the project promotes the conscious use of water while offering spaces that encourage social interaction. Visitors are introduced to a variety of programs such as water-themed exhibitions, aquarium observation areas, and interactive conferences and workshops focused on agricultural productivity and innovative irrigation methods. These experiences are complemented by green and blue relaxation areas, creating a welcoming environment for all age groups.<\/span><\/p>\n

The design incorporates sustainable systems like rainwater harvesting, hydroponic farming, and greywater reuse, turning the site into a living laboratory for environmental learning and hands-on engagement. Architecturally, the form of the structure draws inspiration from the V-shaped imprints left by flowing water on soil, as well as the site’s natural slope, allowing the building to blend with its topography. By establishing visual and physical connections with the surrounding valleys, the center introduces a green and social urban axis that redefines the relationship between the city, its natural landscape, and its inhabitants.<\/span><\/p>\n

In summary, the center serves not only as a hub for education and innovation but also as a meaningful response to environmental and social challenges, envisioning a future where nature, knowledge, and community coexist harmoniously.<\/span><\/p>\n
