Located in the heart of Kahramanmara\u015f, the Copper Innovation Hub is a dynamic architectural
\nresponse to the city\u2019s rich copperworking heritage. Rooted in centuries of craftsmanship and
\ncommunity labor, the project reinterprets this deep cultural identity through a contemporary
\nlens\u2014bridging the artisanal and the digital, the past and the future.
\nAt its core, the design honors the memory of place. The preserved vertical entrance element of
\nthe existing Necip Faz\u0131l K\u0131sak\u00fcrek Cultural Center becomes a symbolic threshold, maintaining a
\nvisual and emotional connection to the city’s collective memory. Around this preserved
\nfragment, a new architectural language unfolds\u2014one that embraces open learning, creative
\nproduction, and digital transformation.
\nThe site is organized into various interactive zones: traditional copper workshops, digital
\nfabrication labs, maker spaces, and exhibition areas. These spaces allow artisans, students,
\nand visitors to engage directly with both manual and high-tech copperworking processes. A
\nsemi-open Copper Bazaar surrounds the central structure, inviting public interaction and
\nsupporting local entrepreneurship. This blend of commercial and educational functions creates
\na living, evolving ecosystem.
\nLandscape design plays a key role in softening the geometry of the site and guiding circulation
\nthrough planted axes and shaded courtyards. The integration of copper-toned design elements
\nthroughout the architecture reinforces the project’s material narrative.
\nThe Copper Innovation Hub is more than a building\u2014it is a cultural platform. It tells a story of
\ntransformation, preserving what is meaningful while embracing what is possible. It positions
\nKahramanmara\u015f not only as a guardian of tradition but also as a center of future-oriented
\ncraftsmanship and creativity.<\/p>\n
