Located in <\/span>Sahabiye, Kayseri<\/span><\/b>, <\/span>Multiple Trades<\/span><\/i> is a community-centered educational hub designed for <\/span>middle and high school students<\/span><\/b>, creating an environment where learning extends beyond conventional classroom boundaries. The project addresses the need for educational spaces that prepare students for the complexity of real-world professions by encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration, hands-on learning, and community engagement.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The core concept of the project is based on <\/span>multiple specializations working together<\/span><\/b>. Rather than focusing on a single discipline, students participate in collaborative projects that require contributions from different fields and areas of expertise. Throughout their educational journey, students rotate between various specializations, allowing them to experience different roles and responsibilities within a project team. By continuously switching disciplines after completing each project, students gain a broader understanding of how different professions interact, fostering adaptability, teamwork, leadership, and informed career decision-making.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The architectural organization reflects this concept through interconnected learning zones linked by a central circulation spine and shared social spaces. Studios, workshops, classrooms, and collaborative areas are arranged to encourage interaction between different groups, promoting the exchange of ideas and knowledge. Outdoor courtyards and green spaces further support informal learning and social engagement.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A significant component of the project is the <\/span>greenhouse<\/span><\/b>, which serves as both an educational and community resource. The greenhouse introduces students to sustainable practices, urban agriculture, and environmental responsibility through hands-on experiences. It functions as a living laboratory where students can learn about food production, resource management, and ecological systems. Beyond serving the school, the greenhouse also provides educational opportunities for the wider community, promoting awareness of sustainable living and encouraging greener lifestyles within Sahabiye.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The building continues its educational mission beyond school hours. While students occupy the facility during the day, the studios and workshop spaces become active community resources in the evening, offering vocational training, creative workshops, and skill-development programs for adults. This dual-use approach transforms the project into a lifelong learning center that strengthens social connections and knowledge sharing across generations.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
