Inspired by the rich historical fabric of the city and contemporary ecological demands, the project aims to recreate the lost green identity of the region, embedding urban farming directly into the core of daily student life and public interaction.

The project operates under a clear, progressive motto: Learn, Grow, Harvest, Share. Architecturally, the campus appears as a unified, continuous singular building, yet it is a dynamic composition of interconnected structural volumes. This layout is meticulously organized around a strict gradient of privacy and programmatic access. The volumetric flow transitions sequentially from fully public spaces welcoming the neighborhood, to semi-public zones designed for communal collaboration, and finally into fully private sectors reserved exclusively for intense academic research and focus.

At the heart of this programmatic ecosystem is the specialized Vertical Farming Studio, supplemented by localized hydroponic and vertical cultivation units strategically distributed throughout the entire building. This integrated agricultural infrastructure serves as a living laboratory. Every Friday, the architectural motto comes to full realization at the school’s integrated “Natural Cafe.” The fresh produce harvested from the vertical grids is systematically transformed into various healthy, organic dishes. The entire operation—from culinary preparation to financial management—is completely run by the students themselves. This farm-to-table circulation loop bridges the gap between production and consumption, turning the ground-floor transition spaces and public pilotis into a thriving social marketplace that infuses vibrant economic and ecological energy into central Kayseri.

“Back to Green: Sahabiye” is an innovative, sustainable educational hub designed to revitalize Sahabiye, the most central district of Kayseri, transforming it into an architectural and social magnet.
