The Exosphere Space Technology Institute<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Exosphere Space Technology Institute is an\u00a0educational facility dedicated to nurturing the scientific curiosity and technological imagination of children aged 8 to 16. Situated within the dense urban fabric of the\u00a0Sahabiye\u00a0neighborhood, the institute stands as a unique institution focused exclusively on space science, technology, and innovation,\u00a0offering young learners an inspiring environment to explore, experiment, and dream beyond the boundaries of Earth.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The concept draws inspiration from the rings of Saturn and the outermost layer of Earth’s\u00a0atmosphere,\u00a0the exosphere,\u00a0a transitional zone between our planet and the vastness of outer space. Much like this atmospheric boundary, the institute serves as a bridge between education and discovery. In response to the rigid urban grid of its surroundings, the building rejects strict geometries in\u00a0favor\u00a0of fluid, free-flowing\u00a0forms\u00a0and interconnected spaces that encourage movement and exploration. This dynamic architectural language reflects the spirit of space and technological advancement while creating a welcoming\u00a0environment.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Exosphere\u00a0is designed to cultivate and sustain children\u2019s natural\u00a0wonder\u00a0for space and technology. Every spatial decision,\u00a0from the\u00a0organization\u00a0of classrooms and workshops to the provision of generous open green spaces and semi-open outdoor learning areas,\u00a0is guided by the belief that curiosity thrives when children are free to move, discover, and engage with their environment.\u00a0Landscaped courtyards extend the learning experience beyond the classroom, inviting students to\u00a0observe, discuss, and collaborate in the open air.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The form of the institute is directly inspired by Saturn and its rings. The central dome housing a planetarium\u00a0represents\u00a0Saturn itself.\u00a0Emerging\u00a0from this dome, two elongated\u00a0building\u00a0extend outward like the rings of Saturn, wrapping around the central volume and giving the complex its distinctive celestial character. The roof transitions with a gentle curve that smoothly connects the surrounding building mass to the dome, ensuring a cohesive and harmonious silhouette when viewed from the surrounding streetscape.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
