Maker Commons is a community-centered educational campus that reinterprets the productive learning philosophy of the Village Institutes within a contemporary urban context. The project is based on the idea that learning emerges through making, experimentation, and collaboration rather than solely through classroom instruction.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The campus is organized around a central Maker Space that acts as its social and educational heart. Robotics, 3D design, and woodworking workshops generate ideas, prototypes, and physical outcomes that converge in this shared environment. By bringing different disciplines together, the Maker Space encourages interdisciplinary learning and collective production.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The spatial organization of the campus is defined by a sunken courtyard and interconnected learning environments. Located at a lower level, the courtyard serves as a gathering space that visually and physically connects educational, social, and productive activities. Libraries, exhibition areas, and communal spaces support both formal and informal learning experiences, transforming the campus into a dynamic educational landscape.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Designed for primary and middle school students, Maker Commons extends its role beyond school hours by opening selected workshops and shared spaces to the local community, promoting lifelong learning and social interaction.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
