THE SEEPAGE<\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/span>Seepage<\/span>, proposed for Kayseri Cumhuriyet Square, reinterprets transportation infrastructure not merely as a point of transit but as a productive system that actively supports urban life. By removing private vehicle traffic from the square and prioritizing pedestrians, cyclists, tram users, and other sustainable modes of mobility, the project establishes an\u00a0<\/span>Eco-Transit Artery<\/span><\/b>\u00a0that promotes a more accessible, safe, and environmentally responsible public realm.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The design draws inspiration from the community-driven production and solidarity model of Postane \u0130stanbul, combining it with the transformative potential of contemporary transportation networks. In this vision, the square evolves beyond a space of movement into a dynamic urban hub for production, learning, and social interaction.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The master plan integrates a\u00a0<\/span>Local Producers Network<\/span><\/b>, creating direct connections between regional producers and urban residents, while a\u00a0<\/span>Seed Bank<\/span><\/b>\u00a0safeguards local biodiversity and encourages the preservation of agricultural heritage for future generations. A\u00a0<\/span>Cooperative Market<\/span><\/b>\u00a0supports this ecosystem by providing a sustainable economic platform for local production and exchange. These programs are strategically positioned along the transit spine, allowing everyday mobility to intersect naturally with social and productive activities.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Architecturally, the public street formed between the building masses is transformed from an underutilized space into an active civic landscape. An elevated ecological pathway and accessible green roof system connect different levels of the project, offering users a continuous experience of nature within the urban environment. The building itself acts as an interface between mobility, ecology, and community engagement.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

By integrating transportation, local production, ecological awareness, and public life into a single framework, the Eco Transportation Hub proposes a resilient and future-oriented model for Kayseri. More than a transportation center, it functions as a socio-ecological catalyst that strengthens community connections, supports sustainable development, and redefines the role of urban infrastructure in contemporary cities.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
