{"id":8989,"date":"2026-06-30T13:16:58","date_gmt":"2026-06-30T13:16:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/archworks.agu.edu.tr\/?p=8989"},"modified":"2026-06-30T13:16:58","modified_gmt":"2026-06-30T13:16:58","slug":"confluence-hatice-canan-cetinkaya","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/archworks.agu.edu.tr\/index.php\/2026\/06\/30\/confluence-hatice-canan-cetinkaya\/","title":{"rendered":"CONFLUENCE\u00a0\/ HAT\u0130CE CANAN \u00c7ET\u0130NKAYA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">CONFLUENCE<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Confluence\u00a0is\u00a0conceived\u00a0as a\u00a0transportation\u00a0hub\u00a0that\u00a0extends\u00a0beyond\u00a0the\u00a0conventional\u00a0role of\u00a0mobility\u00a0infrastructure\u00a0and\u00a0transforms\u00a0into\u00a0a\u00a0vibrant\u00a0third\u00a0place\u00a0within\u00a0the\u00a0city.\u00a0Developed\u00a0through\u00a0behavioral\u00a0mapping\u00a0and\u00a0observation\u00a0studies\u00a0conducted\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0surrounding\u00a0square,\u00a0the\u00a0project\u00a0responds\u00a0to\u00a0patterns\u00a0of\u00a0social,\u00a0necessary,\u00a0and\u00a0optional\u00a0activities\u00a0observed\u00a0throughout\u00a0different\u00a0times\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0day.\u00a0These\u00a0findings\u00a0informed\u00a0the\u00a0creation\u00a0of a\u00a0series\u00a0of\u00a0spatial\u00a0voids\u00a0designed\u00a0to\u00a0attract\u00a0people\u00a0into\u00a0the\u00a0building\u00a0and\u00a0provide\u00a0opportunities\u00a0for\u00a0interaction,\u00a0production,\u00a0learning,\u00a0and\u00a0cultural\u00a0exchange.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The\u00a0project\u00a0is\u00a0organized\u00a0around\u00a0a\u00a0sequence\u00a0of\u00a0interconnected\u00a0spaces,\u00a0including\u00a0performance\u00a0voids,\u00a0production\u00a0voids,\u00a0commercial\u00a0voids,\u00a0and\u00a0artistic\u00a0voids.\u00a0Rather\u00a0than\u00a0prescribing\u00a0specific\u00a0activities,\u00a0these\u00a0spaces\u00a0offer\u00a0flexible\u00a0environments\u00a0where\u00a0users\u00a0can\u00a0shape\u00a0their\u00a0own\u00a0experiences.\u00a0Accessible\u00a0terraces\u00a0introduce\u00a0vegetation\u00a0into\u00a0the\u00a0building\u00a0and\u00a0create\u00a0elevated\u00a0public\u00a0spaces\u00a0that\u00a0encourage\u00a0relaxation,\u00a0gathering,\u00a0and\u00a0engagement\u00a0with\u00a0nature\u00a0while\u00a0allowing\u00a0daylight\u00a0to\u00a0penetrate\u00a0deeper\u00a0levels\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0structure.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">At\u00a0the\u00a0heart\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0project, a\u00a0vertical\u00a0gallery\u00a0connects\u00a0the\u00a0upper\u00a0public\u00a0realm\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0underground\u00a0circulation\u00a0network.\u00a0Seminar\u00a0spaces,\u00a0exhibition\u00a0areas,\u00a0and\u00a0community-oriented\u00a0programs\u00a0are\u00a0distributed\u00a0throughout\u00a0the\u00a0building,\u00a0fostering\u00a0continuous\u00a0interaction\u00a0between\u00a0education,\u00a0culture,\u00a0and\u00a0mobility.\u00a0Exposed\u00a0concrete\u00a0walls\u00a0are\u00a0intentionally\u00a0left\u00a0available\u00a0for\u00a0public\u00a0graffiti,\u00a0allowing\u00a0users\u00a0to\u00a0actively\u00a0contribute\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0evolving\u00a0identity\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0building.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Underground\u00a0levels\u00a0accommodate\u00a0a\u00a0range\u00a0of\u00a0creative\u00a0and\u00a0cultural\u00a0functions. Music\u00a0rooms\u00a0connected\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0amphitheater\u00a0support\u00a0performances\u00a0and\u00a0rehearsals,\u00a0while\u00a0instrument\u00a0exhibitions\u00a0activate\u00a0the\u00a0ground\u00a0floor\u00a0above.\u00a0Similarly, toy-making\u00a0workshops\u00a0extend\u00a0into\u00a0exhibition\u00a0and\u00a0retail\u00a0spaces,\u00a0creating\u00a0a\u00a0direct\u00a0relationship\u00a0between\u00a0production\u00a0and\u00a0display. A\u00a0light-based\u00a0color\u00a0exhibition\u00a0beneath\u00a0the\u00a0central\u00a0volume\u00a0transforms\u00a0natural\u00a0illumination\u00a0into\u00a0an\u00a0immersive\u00a0spatial\u00a0experience.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Confluence further strengthens urban connectivity through its multi-level transportation network, linking the underground bazaar, vehicular underpass system, and future tram line.
