Rather than treating this condition as a barrier to overcome, the project transforms it into an opportunity for connection.

The proposal combines transportation, learning, culture, and public space within a single civic destination. By organizing much of the program below ground, the design preserves the continuity of the urban landscape while creating a network of interconnected spaces beneath it. This approach allows the site to remain open, accessible, and publicly active while accommodating a diverse range of functions.

At the heart of the project is the Kübe, a central oculus that introduces daylight deep into the building and establishes visual relationships between all levels. Above, a contemporary canopy inspired by the geometric principles of Islamic architecture creates a recognizable urban landmark. Supported by branching tree-like columns, the structure provides shade, orientation, and a strong architectural identity for the station and its surrounding public realm.

Movement is the primary generator of the spatial experience. Visitors descend through ramps, terraces, and gathering spaces, experiencing a continuous relationship between light, landscape, and program. The project is therefore understood through its section as much as its plan, where circulation, daylight, and public life intersect.

More than a transportation hub, Kübe İstasyon acts as a civic threshold for Kayseri.
