Located within a context rich in cultural heritage, the project seeks to reactivate fragmented urban memory and transform it into a living, accessible, and participatory public experience. The concept of “Nefha,” meaning a breath or life-giving essence, serves as the guiding idea of the design, symbolizing the revival of forgotten stories, spaces, and social interactions.

The project emerged from a comprehensive analysis of the site’s historical traces, social dynamics, pedestrian movements, and existing public spaces. These investigations revealed a series of disconnected yet significant urban fragments. In response, the design introduces a continuous public route that connects key points within the area, creating a spatial narrative that encourages exploration, interaction, and reflection. Rather than functioning as a standalone object, the building becomes part of a larger urban network that strengthens the relationship between people and place.

At the heart of the project lies a central courtyard, conceived as a contemporary public forum. This open void serves as the focal point of the complex, bringing together different functions while providing opportunities for gathering, discussion, cultural events, and community engagement. Natural light, movement, and visual connections animate the space, creating a dynamic environment that changes throughout the day.

The architectural form balances contemporary expression with respect for the surrounding historical fabric. Its geometric composition creates a strong urban presence while maintaining a human scale appropriate to the context. Programmatically, NEFHA accommodates spaces for exhibition, production, learning, and civic participation, encouraging users to actively contribute to the cultural life of the city.

Ultimately, NEFHA is envisioned not simply as a building, but as a catalyst for social interaction and collective memory. By transforming historical heritage into an active component of everyday life, the project creates a meaningful dialogue between past and future, ensuring that urban memory remains visible, relevant, and continuously renewed through public participation.

NEFHA NEFHA is an architectural proposal that aims to establish a new relationship between the city, its inhabitants, and its historical layers.
