The comprehensiveresearch foundation established in ARCH 501, built upon the observation of the city&#8217;s socialand physical layers through a past-present dialectic, evolves in ARCH 502 into an advanceddesign challenge. This challenge critiques the existing urban fabric and developsinterdisciplinary strategies for its spatial transformation from a global perspective. In thiscontext, the studio aims for students to reconsider their initial &#8216;socio-spatial life concepts&#8217; through the built environment, seeking to (re)produce new architectural spaces and artefactsthat explore the contradictions of daily life while questioning the city&#8217;s social and physicaldynamics within a broader global context.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Course Instructors:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Prof. Burak Asiliskender<\/p>\n<p>Assist.
