The main concept of this project is based on an interdisciplinary art and design school that integrates visual expression, data reading, and hand-based artistic production within the same educational structure. Rather than being designed as a conventional school composed only of classrooms, the building is considered as a living learning environment where students can research, analyze, produce, and share their work. The spatial organization is structured as a permeable system that does not separate visual illustration education from art and craft production, but instead creates continuous relationships between them.
Within the school, visual illustration classrooms are designed as spaces where digital production and visual storytelling techniques are developed. In these areas, students work on drawing, character design, composition, digital illustration, and visual narrative. At the same time, they examine, analyze, and interpret visual data, allowing them to make more conscious design decisions. Therefore, the educational process focuses not only on production itself, but also on the intellectual and analytical background that supports production.
Art studios, painting classrooms, and craft studios form the physical production layer of the building. Painting classrooms are organized as flexible workshops that support sketching, color studies, light, proportion, and composition exercises. Craft studios are designed for material experiments, handmade products, texture research, and three-dimensional production. The proximity of these spaces creates a strong connection between digital production and traditional artistic techniques.
In the design, circulation areas are not treated only as transition spaces, but as social interfaces where students encounter each other, observe ongoing productions, and interact with different disciplines. The relationship between workshops, classrooms, and common areas is strengthened through the principles of transparency, accessibility, and continuity of production. In this way, the school becomes a contemporary educational structure that brings together the analytical, digital, experimental, and hand-crafted aspects of art within a unified architectural language.
