At the heart of our design narrative lies the “Living Loop” philosophy, which unites people, nature, and production within a sustainable, self-sufficient ecosystem. Going far beyond a traditional educational facility, this project is an interactive living space integrated with the city, where every stage of the process—from seed to table—is experienced transparently.
The main production artery of the complex consists of soilless agriculture (hydroponic) educational areas, representing the sustainable food model of the future. In these innovative ecological laboratories, students learn modern agricultural technologies, where water and nutrient cycles are optimized, through hands-on practice. These climate-resilient and eco-friendly greenhouses create the green silhouette of the project while functioning as a continuous production center.
The most striking step of this system is the applied culinary workshops, where the boundaries between production and gastronomy dissolve. A significant portion of the fresh produce, carefully harvested in the soilless agriculture areas, is transferred directly to these kitchens. Students bring the “farm-to-table” concept to life using ingredients they personally witnessed growing, thereby internalizing zero-waste culinary principles.
The valuable outputs of both production and education meet the urbanites through the social marketplace and restaurant, which define the public interface of the project. While the fresh crops from the greenhouses are offered for direct sale in the marketplace, the creative flavors emerging from the culinary workshops are shared with visitors in the restaurant. This spatial arrangement creates a lively social hub for the local community while ensuring the building’s own economic cycle.
The keystone that connects all this innovative infrastructure to a deep-rooted memory is the Seed and Plant Museum. While the project builds the agriculture of the future on one hand, it preserves heirloom seeds and our biological heritage through this museum on the other. Uniting the natural wisdom of the past with the technology of the future under the same roof, this design stands as a holistic architectural organism that produces, educates, preserves, and embraces
