The Art Loop is conceived as a contemporary art school that transcends the traditional concept of art education, understood solely as classrooms and workshops, integrating production, exchange, and interaction. The project aims to create a dynamic learning environment where students can move freely between different artistic disciplines throughout the day, creating, exhibiting, and learning from one another.
The fundamental starting point of the project is a continuous circulation system that connects all the units of the building. This loop system creates a fluid connection between workshops, exhibition spaces, the library, co-working spaces, and common areas, encouraging constant mobility, exploration, and interaction. In this way, artistic production is visibly integrated into the daily life of the building, rather than remaining hidden in closed spaces.
Flexibility is key in the spatial organization. Workshops and workspaces of varying sizes are designed to meet the needs of various artistic disciplines, while semi-open and transparent spaces create visual connections between the production and exhibition processes. The combined use of public and semi-public spaces fosters a dynamic environment for communication between students, faculty, and visitors.
The façade design draws inspiration from the dense treetops of the forest. Vertical sunscreens transform the rhythm of the trunks into an architectural language, lending character to the building and enhancing interior comfort through controlled sunlight. The constant play of light and shadow throughout the day creates dynamic spatial experiences that fuel the art school’s creative atmosphere.
In conclusion, The Art Loop is more than just an educational building; it is conceived as a vibrant cultural platform where learning, creation, exhibition, and socialization intertwine. The project encourages ongoing interaction and exploration among its users, laying the foundation for the formation of a creative artistic community.
